CC3135MOD: CH settings

Part Number: CC3135MOD

Tool/software:

Hello expert,

Please let me know about the CH settings for CC3135MOD.
Is my understanding of the following (1) and (2) correct?

(1) It is possible to disable the use of only certain CH (e.g. CH48 in 5GHz).

(2) Even if "Auto" is selected, the CH set in (1) becomes unavailable.

Regards,
Ryoma

  • Hi,

You can disable any channel you like by removing it from the scan list and hence it would not be scanned.

In this case, the "Auto" connection mode would not scan this channel and not connect to the AP.

But please remember that if it was connected once and the "fast" mode was used, then the scan phase would be skipped and you will be able to connect without scanning.

So disabling the channel is only applied to the scan phase.

    Regards,

    Shlomi

  • Hi Shlomi,

Sorry for all the elementary questions.
    Thank you as always.

I understood that if I remove any channel from the scan list, it will not be scanned even if it is set to "Auto" connection mode.

Does "fast" mode refer to "Channel Bonding"?
If so, I don't plan to use it.

    Regards,
    Ryoma

  • Hi,

"fast" is just another option where it is possible to save the scan itself and shorten the time it takes to connect.

All option can be configured via the connection policy macro:

    SL_WLAN_CONNECTION_POLICY(Auto,Fast,anyP2P,autoProvisioning)

  • Hi Shlomi,

    I misunderstood.
    I've checked "SimpleLinkTM Wi-Fi® CC3x20, CC3x3x Network Processor_User Guide".

I'd like to confirm, just in case.
If a channel is removed from the channel list, but the channel has been connected before,
does that mean the channel will be connected when using “Fast” mode?

    Regards,
    Ryoma

  • Hi,

Yes, what I claim is that the scan phase is skipped when the FAST connection is used.

So even if you remove a channel from the scan list but there is a profile existing already and the FAST policy is set, then it would still connect.

    Regards,

    Shlomi
