CC3301: Bad latency and unstable connection on CC3301

Part Number: CC3301

Tool/software:

Hi,

I seem to experience some of the same issues as this: https://e2e.ti.com/support/wireless-connectivity/wi-fi-group/wifi/f/wi-fi-forum/1531539/cc3301-iperf-test-issue-with-the-cc3301--throught-put-down-to-0

Instead of iperf I am just pinging from command prompt as shown below.

The latency seems to be very unstable with an average around 7-800 ms. Futhermore, it loses connection after some time.

Question:

  • Is this a known issue with CC3301 when using your R5 SDK ? I know you just released R7 could this fix it ?
  • Is there a way to debug this in your code? I can't deny that this issue could be due to our application or our TCP/IP stack.

BR

  • Hello,

I believe that R7 addresses many of the known stability issues.

I do recommend that you give this one a try.

I understand that porting is a big effort, which is why you can start with mainly updating the device FW (.bin file) and the conf.h file.

Most of the improvements have been done in the radio FW and this should be sufficient for you to test your code again.

    Regards,

    AB
