Hi Experts,

Please help with the inquiry below.

Can you provide any guide on how to connect a CC3200 Laundpad to a live CC3200 device via JTAG or UART:

To view console messages from the live card on a PC via CCS with the Launchpad providing the connectivity
To extract an App from live card to PC
To flash the extracted App to another CC3200 device
To flash new certificates to a CC3200 device

Hi Bliu,

Is it correct to say that to debug a live custom CC3200 board installed in an IoT device, that I would remove these four blue "jumpers" on the launchpad described as JTAG headers (J8, J9, J10, J11) and connect the lower pins under the jumpers on the Launchpad to the equivalents on the custom device (shown here with labels on the right)?

To extract or to flash to the custom device I would require the SOP2 jumper be connected on the Launchpad - yes?

To run in "live" mode (no flash) but with debug messages, I would remove all of the SOP (0, 1 & 2) jumpers - yes?

Do I need to do anything more to gain access to console messages from the "live" card when the four JTAG connectors above are wired up? Do I need anything in the UART as below? Am I correct that my use case is "UART for Flashing Mode" - yes? I do not have access to a 20 pin connector on the custom "live" board.

Finally, with these things wired correctly:

I should be able to use putty or similar to connect to the COM port and see messages from the executing code?
I should be able to backup the executing binary software and configuration from a working CC3200 to my PC and then flash that working config to another CC3200 that currently seems to have some corruption or problem preventing it going into AP mode?

Hi,

No, this will not work. SPI flash at CC3200 have cloning protection. You can try this approach: CC3200: CC3200 embedded in IOT Shower
