CC3351: Spurious emissions

Part Number: CC3351

Hello TI,

We are currently undergoing certification for our CC3351-based wireless module.  The certification lab has come back and reported the following issues:

  • Spurious emission failure at around 6.4 GHz when CC3351 is placed in RX mode for BLE channel 0 (2.4 GHz).
  • Spurious emission failure at around 6.4 GHz when CC3351 is placed in RX mode for Wi-Fi channel 1 (2.4 GHz).
  • Spurious emission failure at around 7.6 GHz when CC3351 is placed in TX mode for Wi-Fi channel 140 (5 GHz).

Both occur when actively receiving or transmitting or stopped while in SimpleLink Wi-Fi Toolbox.

I am trying to figure out where on the CC3351 these spurious emissions are coming from, so I can concentrate on reducing the spurious emissions levels.  Are these from internal LOs and its harmonics?  Or somewhere else?

I appreciate any assistance.

Edward
