CC3300MOD: Queries for Wi-Fi Alliance Certification

Part Number: CC3300MOD
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC3300, , CC3301, CC3350MOD

Hi All,

We are working on CC3300 MOD with STM32 as host.

Regarding certification process understood "Wi-Fi certification for a product can be obtained via the DerivativeQuickTrack, or FlexTrack pathways"

We understood from TI, as a certified Wi‑Fi solution on https://www.wi-fi.org/product-finder CC330x with Operating System mentioned as Linux is currently certified. Certification for CC330x with RTOS is about to carry out in second half of the year.

We received recommendation to go for CC335X.

Our queries:

1) So with CC3300MOD with "cc33xx_rtos_mcu_package_R8.1" SDK, we will not able to go for Derivative or QuickTrack. Correct?

2) Go for FlexTrack is another option. But i guess it will take more time and certification charges also high. If we decided to go for FlexTrack, then is there any chance some of test will not work and require update in SDK?

3) We already started poring CC330x SDK "cc33xx_rtos_mcu_package_R8.1" on STM32. we understood this SDK based on FreeRTOS ver 10.4.3.

     a) So what is architecture difference between "CC335X SDK" and "cc33xx_rtos_mcu_package_R8.1".

     b) What is Free RTOS version in "CC335X SDK"

     c) Any challenge which we foreseen for "CC335X SDK" against "cc33xx_rtos_mcu_package_R8.1"

4) Whether CC3300 MOD and CC335X MOD are pin and operating condition (Voltage, Frequency, etc) compatible and there is no need to change hardware. Plz confirm.

5) We checked "For our other REGULATORY certifications, you can request more info here." we found certificates for CC3301 MOD. There are no reports available for CC3300 MOD. We understood the reports for CC3301 MOD are applicable for CC3300 MOD. Please confirm.

6) If we are using qualified solutions from TI lets say CC3350MOD and ported SDK to STM32 and modified "WiFi_adaptation_layer" compatible to STM32. Tested application. In that case are we eligible for "Derivative Wi-Fi Alliance Path" and will get Wi-Fi alliance certificate without testing by Test Tools.

If answer is yes, then under which situation for above example we need to go for QuickTrack and FlexTrack.

Thanks in advance for the support.
