Data Logger Application not connecting to AP, 3 letter prefix?

Hi

There is a limitation currently indicating that the First Time Configuration can be run for 3 times on the module.

May it be that u run it more than that? If this is a case just add to in hte code the following lines:

wlan_ioctl_del_profile(0);

wlan_ioctl_del_profile(1);

wlan_ioctl_del_profile(2)

And let me know if it helps...

Thank you for your reply. I did not understand where you wanted me to add the lines (Could you please mention the line number or some other identifier for the location) . Is there any other way I can delete the profiles? But even so, it should still work with one of the existing profile since it has the same 3 letter prefix (PDE), don't you think?

I was able to delete the profiles, by using this procedure:Delete CC3000 profile. The procedure went as per the instructions. I put it in first time configuration mode, and then sent out probe requests and now it goes back to the state that I mentioned in the first post of this thread. With LED1 going off and on intermediately. So, it seems to be connected to the AP, it shows up in the DHCP client list as well. Is there a newer version to this application that I can download, because it seems to have some issues.

What other kind of issues do you have? Are you able to see the data coming through on the GUI?

I am unable to see data coming through on the GUI. At what frequency should the appear?  Because the LED's lighting sequence (as mentioned in my previous comment) seem to indicate that it is connected to the AP and transmitting. Although the GUI seems to be countering that behavior. I did check the IP address in the .xml file to see if it has configured with the right IP address and it was. Anything else I should try?

I don't know if this willl be of any help. 

1. I checked the AP's router page to see if it has been registered in the DHCP client, and I confirmed that it was,

2. I checked Wireshark, filtering with the CC3000's IP address, it seems to be transmitting  2 UDP packets that are each have data lengths 64 bytes and 1444 bytes, both go to the same destination port 51016. The destination ip adress seems to be 224.0.0.1.

I wrote both the HomeAutomation and the DataLogger applications.

Both applications use the same 'PDE' prefix so the first time config probe should be identical assuming that the AP SSID and the security settings haven't changed.

I have seen what could be this behaviour before when the device connects to the AP but the security mode or passphrase is incorrect.  What happens in this state is that the application gets a notification that the connection is closed a couple of seconds later.

I assume you only have one AP with this SSID?

Which method are you using for the first time config process?

Can you please tell me your security mode?

1. Yes, I have only one AP with that SSID. 
2. I am using my PC to send the probe requests, I haven't had any trouble with the first time cong in any of the other applications.  The device connects immediately after I try connecting it to my network labeled 'PDEETP-LINK_2CDBD80 ' and it seems to have been configured  in this case as well, but the connection seems to be intermittent. 

3. I have security disabled, so the security type would be 'open' or 'none'. 

Could you please tell me the LED light up sequence. Thank you for your help.

My PC has 1 Wi-Fi and 1 Ethernet interfaces. 

I assume that you meant

CC3000: 192.168.102

and not 

CC3000: 192.158.102

These look fine.  You said that you had this setup working with the HomeAutomation demo correct?  Can you please send me a screen shot of the DataLogger app after a few cycles of the DataLogger sending the data?  Also, have you tried the accelerometer streaming?  Accelerometer data is streamed to the PC when the user holds button S1.  This takes a few seconds (2-3) before data is streamed.

Yes, I meant 168. Sorry about that. I tried holding button S1 down, LED 1 AND LED 4 glow solid now. Still no data on the GUI. I've attached the screen shots like you asked.

Sorry, but it seems that the application is now working. I am not sure why, but when I connected to the PC via the ethernet cable instead of the PC being connected via Wi-Fi. I was able to get data on the GUI.

I wonder if your PC WiFi interface is using a different subnet.  When you do a ipconfig what is the IP address of the WiFI interface? This IP address belongs in the manifest.xml file.

Thanks Jason, I did not see that! 

The IP addresses that I put in looked right. However I did get it working on a different PC both Wi-Fi and Ethernet. It does not seem to be working on the one I've been trying from initially, the device manager shows 2 virtual network serial interfaces in addition to the physical ethernet and Wi-Fi card. I wonder if it is interfering with that. IP Config shows a bunch of interfaces, I usually look up the ap's configuration page under DHCP client list just to be sure. I will look through this again and let you know if I have any updates.
