Upgrade from TIWI-R2 to TIWI5

Hello,

We tried to upgrade our wireless chipset from TIWI R2 to TIWI5(450-0053), it seems the new chipset can't find any wireless network when using wlan_cu with wpa_supplicant.

We are currently using an AM3703 on a custom board with the Wilink driver V3.00.01.06-WL6.1.6.0.3 on a 2.6.34 kernel.

We though the driver and hardware were totally compatible, do we need to modify anything in the driver or to change the firmware ?

Hi Bryan,

Since you don’t get scan results with TIWI5 i suspect the module has different fast clock configuration. I will consult with HW engineer and respond here

Hi Eyal,

Indeed that was a clocking issue. I made it works in modifying the ini file, I changed STRFRefClock value (2 for the Tiwi R2 whereas it is 1 for the TIWI 5). It works like a charm.
