Embedded Wi-Fi switch recommendation needed

I am software engineer and I don't know much about hardware, but to test some part of a project I am working on I need a simple (small) hardware "push button" switch that would send messages to web server over Wi-Fi.

I appreciate all suggestions/recommendations. Thank you.

    Hi John,

    I think that it would be a nice idea to start with the weather temperature demo.

    This demo includes a basic HTTP server.

    On top of that you will need to connect a push button to the host and transmit data required on push button pressed event.
