I work for TrackMan A/S and we are developing a product based on a phyTech Omap4460 module running Linux and using the LS Research TiWi-R2 wireless chip.
I have a wireless AP up and running based on the instructions from www.omappedia.com/wiki/Mac80211_based_open_source_architecture. It works even though the chip has not yet been calibrated, so I have a few questions:
- Is calibration mandatory, (we might need Bluetooth at some time, but never FM radio)?
- The calibration tool needs an ini-file - can you point to a ini-file that is appropriate for our platform?
Due to the nature of our product we can have several “individual” AP’s located with approximately 3 meters separation. The client range for the AP does not have to be longer than app. 10 meters. If we try having two AP’s 3 meters apart using the same AP configuration, then it seems as if they are disturbing each other so it’s not possible to connect to either of them.
- Can this be due to missing calibration?
- Do we need to adjust channels, signal level etc. and is there “automatic” tools available for this?
- Are other wireless chips better suited for “AP”/”multiple AP” usage?
Best Regards
