RF korean certification for product including TiWi5

Hello,

We have a RF certification for Korea in progress for a device including a TiWi5 module. To perform the tests, the korean labs ask us the way to put the TiWi5 in test mode for :
- Continuous TX
- Continuous RX
- Single-carrier (un-modulation mode)

I can manage the two first points thank to your help (http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/OMAP_Wireless_Connectivity_Tx_Continuous and http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/OMAP_Wireless_Connectivity_Rx_Statistics) using "calibrator" command but I have no information on the way to switch the RF module in single-carrier. I guess that it should be possible with "calibrator" but I don't know how to do.

Could you help me ?

Hi,

In order to test a single carrier you should use the following command (after setting the correct channel):

calibrator wlan0 plt tx_tone 2 10000 # to start transmission

calibrator wlan0 plt tx_stop # to stop transmission

Hi,

I see that this command sets the output power to 10dBm. Is it possible to go above that?

What is the allowed range for output power for the TiWi BLE?

Hi,

Currently it is not possible to control the output power of the CW (tone signal).

The typical maximum output power is:

+20.0dBm at 11Mbps, (11b)
+15.0dBm at 54Mbps, (11g)
+14.5dBm at 65Mbps, (11n)

Hi Olivier,

I'm trying to do the same thing. I've run into a problem where tx_tone only generates a short burst of output rather than a continuous transmission. Was your testing using tx_tone successful?
