Smart Config Java Applet not working

Hi,

I am trying to perform Smart Config from my Laptop using Latest Java Applet (v1.1) but it is failing to do so.

When I try from my Android App, CC3000 gets configured perfectly.

I have tried with two scenarios:

1. My Laptop is connected to a Network formed using Router.

2. I have created a soft access point on my Laptop.

Both cases, it failed to perform Smart Config, It just keeps that LED blinking.

I don't think there's anything wrong with code as Smart Config is working if I use Android App.

(P.S. I am running on Windows 7 and using Internet Exploer 8 to run SmartConfig.html)

Hi Swanand,

Most likely your browser is not letting the Java applet run. You should go into your internet options> security> custom level, and enable scripting of Java applets. You also need to be sure the latest version of Java runtime is installed on your computer.

Please also refer to the list of limitations in the following page: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Smart_Config_Application_development_information_-_Java_Applet

There may be a problem that your Laptop computer is connected via MIMO to the AP. In that case, configuration will not succeed.

My Browser settings are good to run Java Applets, though I get ActiveX pop up to which I click "Allow Blocked Contents".

Also, It doesn't automatically populates SSID and Network Gateway field as it does on Phone app.

Tomer, Any idea how can I check whether it is connected via MIMO or not??

Hi,

In order to check actual rates of transmitted packets, you would need a wlan sniffer. If you have, that would be the best option.

For the sake of the test, you can either limit the connect to 11g on your laptop (wireless settings), or else change the AP configuration.

Please let me know if you need some assistance to limit this on the laptop side.

What OS are you using? on Win7 and Linux, you should see the ssid and gateway detected automatically. Do you see it?

How should I change AP Configuration or Wireless settings. It will be very useful if you can provide steps.

And I am using Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 8... My SSID and Network Gateway is not getting there automatically... I will better try with another machine with Chrome too!

If that's the case, then it's not related to the MIMO (at least in that stage), as it should display the ssid and gw automatically. This indicates the applet wasn't loaded.

Please verify you're using latest java -> 7.21.

Please also try with chrome browser.
