Hi,

I am developing product using DM8147 which has an EVM that has COM6.

I see that WL1835MODCOM8A uses COM8. I compared pinouts and they are

similar (almost a subset in COM6. So since I am not using AM335. but instead DM8147,

can I use the WL1835 module on EVM before I change my custom hardware (now running 1271 generation).

Patrick,

The COM8 is backwards compatible with COM6 so there should be no issues with plugging in the HW itself.

However, you would need to update the WLAN & BT Driver to WL8 (there are additional information and details on the Wiki below).

We only only offer pre-integrated WL8 Drivers for AM335x and don't have support for DM8147.

I will discuss with hardware team. I only have one question now on hardware,

Does the WL183x module(s) you offer have actual FCC_IC_ETSI approvals?

Hi Patrick,

I am also working wilink 8 on DM8147 EVM board , but it dont have support for even wilink 6 also in dm8147 board files (board-ti8148evm.c) .

Can you please help me how you made changes in board files to support TI wilink sdio devices??

Hi Joseph Gigi,

Thanks for your reply , This above link has good stuff but i am unable to identify the GPIO pins for WLAN_IRQ and WLAN_EN of DM8147 platform . I have TRM document for DM8147but board schematic is not mention in this document. and how to set MMC 2 port as a SDIO mode.
