EN302502 / FCC DFS (WL1837 certifications)

Hi,

About certifications for WL1837 2.4 + 5G.

1. EN301893 only specifies 5150~5725MHz, while band4 need to use EN302502 or EN300440.
As the WL1837 can use of band (5725~5850MHz), what standard would be recommended to choose here?
For example, on the TI certified WL18xx modules, what is actually tested here?

2. FCC seems to have special rules for "master device" (which I assume is AP)
Then so called DFS testing needs to be done by FCC. Is this really mandatory for running an access-point (or wifi-direct) at 5G?

2. Please check the R8.3 SP1 release notes for "Feature List"-

AP role, "5GHz" "No Radar detection, operate on non-DFS channels" "V"
AP role, "DFS: Radar Detection per FCC, ETSI" "N"

Hi Gigi,

Thanks for info. Is DFS something that is planned for upcoming firmware releases?

Talking about that, what is in the pipeline currently for the WL18xx? We're very eager to get our hands on a verified WakeOnWLAN feature-set (currently listed as untested in the R8.3 SP1 release)

Hi David,

We plan to support DFS on the next release (R8.4). WoW, is supported. But there are some limitations in the testing. We hope to fix this limitation in the next release...

How can we handle EN302502 to test DFS at this stage?

Any pre-release drivers and/or ways via Calibrator?

In the self declaration of conformity document, TI has EN300328 report or certificate. Can TI put the report or certificate on the WiKi website?

The declaration is for WL1835MOD. Does the declaration cover the WL1831 version?
