If we use a WL1271 in an LSR TiWi-BLE module are we required to pay license fees to the wifi group or to IEEE? Has TI already paid when they made the chip?

It seems like we need to become a wifi adopter to use the certified logo, but if we don't want to use the logo, do we have to certify?

I have found information that seems to indicate we would for bluetooth, but information for wifi has be harder to come by. Any insight you could provide would be appreciated

Yes, they told me no license was required to use their part, but weren't sure if a license was required for the end product, or if it inherited a license from the TI chip. They asked me to talk to you.

Hi Nathan,

If you don't not want to use the WIFI Alliance Logo, then you don't need to pass certification nor pay to the Alliance
