Are 0402 passives a must for the CC3000 RF or can 0603s be used instead?

I am referring to the RF passives between the CC3000MOD and the antenna:

C1 C0402, 2.2 pF Walsin 0402N2R2C500LT
L2 L0402, 2.2 nH ACX Hl1005-1C2N2SMT
C2 C0402, 10 pF Walsin 0402N100J500LT

The 0402 are just too small for my taste. I would like to know if using 0603s for those 3 elements will negatively affect the RF performance.

Hi Ivor,

You can use 0603s for the above mentioned elements. It should not be an issue, but you would have to re-simulate the circuit for same network performance.

By re-simulate do you mean use a radio tool to determine new radio parameters that need to be written to the CC3000? If this is the case, I'll learn to live with the 0402s.

Hi Ivor,

Sorry for the delay in response. I don’t think any simulation can be done using the Radio tool. We meant to say that you should perform a circuit level simulation using board design tools like Allegro.
