How to make CC300 reachable to a remote device

Hi there!

We are working on the development of a Smart switch device..My question is. If We use the CC300..Is it needed to apply any type setting to the Router like port forwarding in order to make it accesible to a device out of the LAN?

We would like to get a brief explanation about, how CC300 might be reachable from a remote device without configurate the Router!

Hi Aldo,

To receive the requests from the outside world to the CC3000 on required ports, it is necessary to add the port forwarding details in the router. So that the router forwards the requests to the relevant devices on relevant port.

On CC3000, to share the existing port and IP address details within a network you can use mDNS and also the SSDP advertising mechanism.

This issue has nothing to do with the CC3000. It is a general problem for any machine behind a firewall. There are many solutions to this problem on the Internet that you can research. Most often they involve having a web server that manages the clients and one that the CC3000 can poll.
