How quickly should a module reconnect after HCI_EVNT_WLAN_UNSOL_DISCONNECT

I have set up my CC3000 to do both fast connect and connect to a set of profiles.

I'm not yet sending any traffic on the device, but as I walk away, eventually I get an

HCI_EVNT_WLAN_UNSOL_DISCONNECT

notification. I then walk back towards my wifi connection, and had hoped it would pick up quite quickly, but it seems to be taking a couple of minutes despite sitting right next to the access point.

Are there any settings that speed this up? Setting the scan parameters for instance?

How quickly would you expect it to reconnect?

Hi Anthony,

Ideally the connection time would vary. But the way that I believe may suit your case would be to have that device added in your profiles. And set the connection policy 'wlan_ioctl_set_connection_policy(DISABLE, DISABLE, ENABLE);'.

The connection time should be less in this case.

Would wlan_ioctl_set_connection_policy(DISABLE, DISABLE, ENABLE);

be faster than

wlan_ioctl_set_connection_policy(DISABLE, ENABLE, ENABLE);

Hi Anthony,

I am not exactly sure how wlan_ioctl_set_connection_policy(DISABLE, ENABLE, ENABLE); behaves on loss of connection. But let me check on this and get back to you.

Hi Pontus,

I had a chance to try some of the test cases, wherein the connection is lost or the AP is turned off and turned on again. I could not see much difference in the re-connection time between the two policies. They take almost the same time to re-connect.
