What is the maximum data rate for CC3000

Datasheet clearly states the SPI maximum clock frequency is 16MHz, but is it possible to transmit burst data loaded by using 16MHz SPI interface? In other words, what is the maximum transmit data rate for cc3000? Does anyone has valid benchmark data or else?

I have been up around 4,6Mbit/s at 16Mhz SPI.

I have seen posts on this forum that people have been able to achieve 7MBit/s for UDP with the SPI bus at 16 MHz.

Once the data is loaded into the CC3000 it can be transmitted to the AP at 54 MBit/s if the router is close by. The CC3000 cannot transmit packets larger than about 1.6K.

So, even though you can transmit a 1.6K packet to the AP at 54 MBit/s, you cannot get in into the CC3000 that fast.

Thanks for you all.

That's so bad we can only have that low data rates using 16MHz SPI.

I guess USB wi-fi adapter and ARM Linux system will cover my needs.
