cc3000 wifi channels

After working with the FRAM57xx and Murata EM for some time, I had problems connecting to an AP with or without smartconfig. After a lot of debugging and and reading and trying anything, the reason was the WIFI channel of the AP. It was set to channel 13. I found that my setup could connect to channel 11 max.

In most of the world, channel 13 is alowed for WIFI.

My question is whether my murata EM (which was probably made for the US) or any other murata-cc3000 combination can be used to connect to channel 13?

Is this limitaion mentioned somewhere in any of your documents?

Hi Dima,
at least the AP scanning function (HCI_CMND_WLAN_IOCTL_SET_SCANPARAM) has a field to explicitly tell which channels to scan (default is 1-11, but this can be set to 1-13). See here. I have not tested if this setting also affects the wlan_connect.

Hi Dima,

As Risto mentioned in the post above, 'wlan_ioctl_set_scan_params' is the right API. The parameter 'uiChannelMask' should be set to '0x1fff' to make it functional on channel 13. This should work.
