Hi,

I am using AM335x EVM connected with WL1835MOD. I am using Bluetopia platform manager for SPP communication between EVM and other devices. In my application, the evm continuously receives data every 1ms. When this happens, I sometimes see the following error,

(stc): chip/interface misbehavior dropping frame starting with 0x01(stc): chip/interface misbehavior dropping frame starting with 0x00
(stc): chip/interface misbehavior dropping frame starting with 0x00(stc): chip/interface misbehavior dropping frame starting with 0x001

The baud rate set is 3000000.

What could be the reason for this? Is it due to fast reception of data?

Hi,

This should not happen, This is because some data is getting lost at UART driver.

Not sure what is the reason, I think it is worth trying by increasing the receiving time.

Hi Sundeep,

We changed the 1 ms interval between each reception to 10 ms. Then the issue was resolved.

We are now using our custom board with AM335x processor, with WL1835MOD. We have the following requirement:

The Bluetooth module receives one set of data every 10ms and another set of data every 20 ms. When this happens, we get the same 'chip/interface misbehavior' error.

After receiving 315777 bytes, the following occurred. Sometimes the error occurs soon after the data reception begins.

[ 421.235892] (stc): chip/interface misbehavior dropping frame starting with 0x00
[ 421.250939] (stc): chip/interface misbehavior dropping frame starting with 0x00(stc): chip/interface misbehavior dropping frame starting with 0x00
[ 421.278270] (stc): chip/interface misbehavior dropping frame starting with 0x1a

How do we resolve this? Is there any setting in the Platform Manager that restricts the number of bytes that can be received at a time?

As mentioned earlier, this issue happens because of data corruption at the UART driver layer.

Hi Gigi Joseph,

We understand that it is due to data corruption at the driver layer. How do we fix it?

We have tried different baud rates but that doesn't help.

The above link contains information about file changes, insertions and deletions. But the actual patch is not available in the link.

Could you please give us the link to the kernel patch file so that we can apply the patch and test the same.
