WiLink8 receiver test mode - promiscious mode?

Does the following command support promiscious mode, where all MAC addresses are listened to and counted?

calibrator wlan0 wl18xx_plt start_rx  <source_address>  <destination_address>

This is from the http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/WL18xx_RX_Testing page.

  • Hi Brandon,

Please see this response - http://e2e.ti.com/support/wireless_connectivity/f/307/t/381044.aspx
Besides, I don't think in PLT mode, any data is being sent to the host.

    Regards,
    Gigi Joseph.

Agree that in PLT mode, specifically in the RX performance test, no data is being sent to the host.

The desire is to have the PER counters operate on all packets received, not just those that are specific to the <source MAC Address> <destination MAC address> combination.  Is this supported?  If so, how do we configure this?

    Is the following command equivalent?

    > calibrator wlan0 wl18xx_plt start_rx FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF

  • Hi Brandon,

It will be supported in R8.5 release

    Regards,
    Gigi Joseph.
