hi
if using the TCP sl_so_keepalive option, how often does the cc3100 send a keepalive packet ?
what I care about is the cost in terms of power, what can I expect if I maintain a single connection in this state ?

Hi Ron,
In default the TCP keep alive packets are sent every 5min.
Our idle connect power consumption is 690uA, sending the keep alive every 5min shouldn't effect much. I would say that it will probably bring us to about 750uA average power consumption (under the assumption that the only traffic is the TCP keep alive and the WLAN keep alive packets).
Please refer to our networking subsystem power management application report for more details: http://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/swra462.
Thanks,
Alon
