I understand that the wiFi MAC address comes pre programmed in the WL18xx modules, and that they can be reassigned by the end user by following hte steps here:

What I am not clear on is do you have to reassign the MAC address? Can the TI factory programmed MAC address be used in mass production by the end user, or is it for development only.
