hello!

first of all thank you for your quick replies in previues threads.

i would like to continue and ask regarding the my first question and experiment that can be found on this link: http://e2e.ti.com/support/wireless_connectivity/f/968/t/383514.aspx

the aim of my experiment is to exchange data between the two cc3100 units while they are both connected to a LAN created by a nearby router access point, meaning i do not wish a direct connection between the two.

my qeustion are:

1. should my code implement both socket and wlan station modes? if i understad correctly i first must connect to a network and after wards open a tcp socket?

2. if the anwser to 1 is no i probobly dont understand the way for implimintaion and therefore would love some general guidance on how to proceed.

Hi Yuri,

Your understanding in the first point is correct. Both the CC3100 devices should run the station module that connects to a WLAN Access Point.

Make these CC3100 devices connect to the same Access Point and check that they have acquired the IP address. After that, make one of these 2 devices a TCP server and the other one a TCP client. You can transfer the data following the TCP connection between these 2 devices.

You can take reference from the "tcp_socket" and the "getting_started_with_wlan_station" examples from the SDK.

thnx again for the quick response!

i have inspected the "getting_started_with_wlan_station" but couldnt find the "tcp_socket" example in the simplelink studio VS examples. eventually i found it in the general examples directory. it is my understanding that this code (tcp socket) must be modified in order to work on Visual studio ?

Hi Yuri,

Yes, you would have to modify the application to suit to work on the SimpleLink Studio. Please refer to the other simple link studio applications that are already available in the SDK.
