WL1271L simultaneous BT connections

Hi.

Can someone tell me how many simultaneous BT connections are supported by the WL1271L with the latest TIInit_7.6.15.bts firmware?

The question has been asked in E2E forums before but it seems to be getting different answers from different people and different empirical results have been observed, anywhere from 6 to 10.

Can a TI employee with some internal knowledge of the firmware code provide a definitive answer?

Hi Steve,

7 BR/EDR (BT) connections. and for BLE connections please refer to the data sheet.

Make sure that you are using latest Service pack(BTS file) from here https://git.ti.com/wilink8-bt/ti-bt-firmware/trees/master

Thanks, I will ensure that the customer has the latest firmware.

Can you tell me what data sheet you are referring to? I don't see one for the WL1271L. The ones I've found for the TiWi-BLE based on the chip (wl1271-tiwi-ble.pdf from TI, 330-0087.pdf from LSR) don't mention the number of connections).

Can you provide a link to that data sheet (or post it here)? As I say, I can't find one for the WL1271L on the TI website.

Also, the statement "supports large number of multiple connections (up to 10)" in the data sheet sounds like a general statement about the chip and not necessarily what the TIInit_7.6.15.bts firmware might have actually been compiled for. As you have indicated, the customer should be using the latest firmware. That and other posts by TI employees in this forum indicate that the actual number depends on the firmware.

Can you tell me if the current TIInit_7.6.15.bts is indeed compiled with support for a full 7 classic BT or 10 BLE connections?
