Hi,

I have a WiFi enable and disable feature where I wanted to turn on and off the radio. I am using wpa_spllicant and dbus interface. My WiFi chip is WL1835MOD. How to enable/disable the radio via wpa_supplicant and dbus? If wpa_supplicant doesnt support, is there a linux command to do this?

Hi Johncy,

You can try:

Turn Off: "ifconfig wlan0 down"
Turn On: "ifconfig wlan0 up"

Hi Gigi,

Thanks for the input. I dont have ifconfig utility in my target. Can I use "ip link set wlan0 down" and "ip link set wlan0 up" instead

It seemed to work for me (AM335x). Please see below:

root@am335x-evm:~# ip link set wlan0 up
[ 87.954847] wlcore: PHY firmware version: Rev 8.2.0.0.210
[ 88.050777] wlcore: firmware booted (Rev 8.9.0.0.14)
root@am335x-evm:~# ip link set wlan0 down
[ 92.836180] wlcore: down
