Hi,

Have I lost the plot, or has aerial design changed that much!

I have just received the CC3200 LaunchXL.

The Aerial is connected on both sides to ground including the feed to the aerial.

I checked the gerber files and PCB layout document http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/swru370a/swru370a.pdf

Sure enough the drive to the aerial is connected to the ground plane.

Am I having another senior moment and missed the plot??

Yeh, Thank you but where do I get an answer from.

The aerial is shorted out to ground why?

You certainly have missed a few.

Wires or copper traces, how short they are, are an inductor.

F-antennas using this kind of inductor, search the TI site for at least AN043 and AN058 and read these documents.

Thank you so so much.

I was not aware of the existence of an "Inverted F Antenna".

Now I am so so happy that I was not loosing it!

Thank you this problem has been playing on my mind since viewing the layout file nearly two weeks ago.
