[WL1837MOD] Bluetooth stack and profile

Guru 24520 points

Hello,

Please let me confirm my understanding for Bluetooth stack and profile which TI provide for this device.

[Question]

 1. Can you provide the Bluetopia stack even though the host processor is not TI's one?

 2. Can you correspond to add the BT profile in case of using the Bluetopia stack?

[My understanding]

1. TI will provide the Bluetopia which it is Certified Stack in case that the host processor is only TI processor.

2. And if customer would like to add the BT profile which it is not included in Bluetopia, we do not have any solution for adding profiles because the StonestreetOne was bought up by Qualcomm.  Thus, we will introduce the 3rd party of providing BT stack and profile. Or customer will use the free software like BlueZ.

Is my understanding correct?

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Best regards.

Kaka

  • Hi,

Let me check this internally and get back to you on this.
  • Hello,

Thank you for your interest in WiLink8.

TI BT stack SW roadmap is published online in WiLink8 website. As for now, we are supporting most of BlueTopia profiles on Linux and plan to add more in the next coming months.

Moving from ARM processor to another on Linux should be a simple matter and we tend to support this kind of modifications. I was wondering if you can shed more light on which type of ARM processor is about.

Now, if you would like us to support profiles that aren't part of our roadmap, we can point you to work with 3P.

You may use BlueZ with WiLink8 but i expect you will figure out lot of issues while going to certification or looking for support.

    I hope that helped,

    Eran
