Reset WiFi module

You need to pull down WLAN_EN. "ifconfig wlan0 down" should work.

Hi Gigi,
I need a way to reset the wifi chip either through code or linux commands when the wlan is not up. In my case, when the wlan interface is not up due to hardware problem, ip addr does not list wlan interface. So I cannot issue ifconfig wlan0 up/down

How about exporting the WLAN_EN GPIO and writing 1& 0 to "/sys/class/gpioX/value" ?
This is not related to WLAN/wl18xx drivers in any way, but more Linux.

Thanks for the reply. As given in the link www.armadeus.com/.../index.php, I tried

Reset the chip. (or reboot the board)
# echo 40 > /sys/class/gpio/export
# echo out > /sys/class/gpio/gpio40/direction
# echo 1 > /sys/class/gpio/gpio40/value

In my case gpio port is 147. I could not see gpio147 in /sys/class/gpio/

Giving #echo 147 /sys/class/gpio/export gives resource busy

I see... I think this is because the WLAN_EN is controlled by the fixed regulator. Can you try to enable CONFIG_REGULATOR_DEBUG in the defconfig and see if you can control it from userspace?
