How long do the CC3200 Connects to the router successfully

Dear All,

I make CC3200 as STA role and connect to my company router(there are approach 30 routers surround me ).

It takes about 5 seconds to connect the router.

Is there possible to shorten this time. I need the CC3200 module connect to the router in 3 seconds.

How can I do.

Hi Hark,

The most time consuming elements in WLAN connection are actually the initial WLAN scan (~1 sec) and the DHCP process(~1-3 sec).
Both items, are not directly related to the WLAN connection process, but from user perspective they are bundled together.

In order to reduce the scan time, I would recommend that you will use our fast connect feature (essentially connecting without scan), for more details you can refer to the networking programmer guide, chapter #5.3: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/CC31xx_Programmers_Guide

In order to skip the DHCP process, you can use static IP address, for details go to the same programmer guide, chapter #4.4
