Hi,

I am using 2 antennas in my device. Is there a way to detect/get signal strength from both the antennas?

The
drivers/net/wireless/ti/wlcore/rx.c
function : wl1271_rx_status

should have the information.

Relevant fields are :

status->signal
status->antenna

I don't think there is...
But you can add some utility in the userspace and read this information from the driver.

You can either enable 1 or both the antennas....

Thanks Gigi.

I did some testing by having single antenna and measure the rssi and connect both antenna and measure the rssi. When I remove the secondary antenna alone i couldn't see any difference in the rssi value. How can I confirm if both my antenna's are enabled in the kernel driver?

Have you also configured "number_of_assembled_ant2_4" accordingly ? Please see the wlconf manual at: processors.wiki.ti.com/.../WiLink8_wlconf_maunal.pdf

Gigi,

Yes I tried with number_of_assembled_ant2_4 =02 but it has no impact of secondary antenna. In otherwords, if primary antenna is removed there is a difference in associate /RSSI value. But between primary alone and primary+secondary, there is no difference.

Thanks Gigi. If I do dmesg | grep wlcore nothing like this (status->signal etc..) shows up. How to get it. We are using 8.5 fw_4 and conf.bin based on the WL1837MOD_INI_FCC_CE ini file present in http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/.INI/wlconf_Overview.
