Regarding CC3200 Boot sequence

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC3200

Hi all,

I have studied CC3200 Launchpad and have successfully implemented TCP operations. Now I want to confirm that in order to program CC3200 SRAM/SFlash memory, One needs to use UART0 and JTAG/SWD.....Moreover in CC3200 UART0 pins can be mapped to 4 combinations....But If one loads any program to CC3200 SRAM/SFlash memory, which pins are used for UART0.?

Pins for UART0 can be mapped but in order to load that mapping files(pinmux.c and pinmux.h) also one needs to use UART0...So in that case what are the default pins used for UART0 ?

Please correct me if I am missing some concept..Thankyou.

  • Moving to CC3200 forum.

    Gigi Joseph.
  • Formatting and/or writing files to the serial flash device through the CC3200 UART interface requires the use of the following CC3200 pins:

    55 - UART1 TX

    57 - UART1 RX

    32 - nRESET

    21 - SOP2

    Sense on Power

CC3200 implements a sense on power scheme. By using a few board level pull resistors CC3200 can be configured by the user to power up in

one of the three following modes:

    1. Fn4WJ: Functional Mode with 4-wire JTAG mapped to fixed pins

    2. Fn2WJ: Functional Mode with 2-wire SWD mapped to fixed pins

    3. LDfrUART : UART Load Mode for flashing the system during development and in OEM assembly line (eg: serial flash connected to CC3200R)

Sense on Power (SoP) values are sensed from the device pin during power up. This encoding determines the boot flow as well as the default mapping for some of the pins (JTAG, SWD, UART0). Three SoP pins are used for this purpose. Before the device is taken out of reset, the SoP values are made available on a register and determine the device character while powering up.
