CC3200 Launchpad doesn't connect anymore to any tool: ACK failed

Hello,

My CC3200 Simplelink Launchpad stopped working suddenly, tried to re-flash the service pack using Uniflash and didn't work, it doesn't connect with either CCS or Energia, the message I got when trying program service package using Unifalsh: Reading ACK signal failed.

I have tried the following solutions with NO luck:

- I tried to re-flash the FTDI chip EEPROM using FT Prog with the CC3200 LP template.

- Tried it with another computer and OS and same problem nothing changed.

- Tried to uninstall the driver and re-install using FTDI utility and nothing changed, same problem.

(attached below screenshots of the Uniflash and CCS error messages when trying to connect with the CC3200 LP).

The initial diagnose seems it is a problem with the reset signal, but have no idea how to solve!!

It seems like a frequent issue since I found it a lot on this forum and others, is there any fix for such an issue or the board is permanently unfixable?

Hi,

There are several post in this forum with a solution for this "reading ACK signal failed". One post was originated by E2E member Martin Valencia.. See, if you can learn from that post.

By far none of the posts have this problem solved, at least the ones I have read, do you have the link to Martin Valencia post solving this problem, I'm searching E2E website for him but nothing clear about such a post.

Just confirm if you have the jumper on SOP2 pin installed while flashing.

I have tried it with both jumper SOP2 installed and not, same result.

Hi Karim,

Are you able to connect over JTAG using the CCS/IAR? Can you please run the blinky sample example from the cc3200 sdk and check if this works?

Hi Raghavendra,

The second screenshot above is from CCS example, saying CCS can't connect to the board for debugging, is it what you are looking for or you suggest something else?.

Apologies for the delay.

Can you please perform one more test on this board?
Can you please probe the power levels?

Voltage on VDD_ANA1 should be around 1.9V
Voltage on VDD_DIG1 should be around 1.2V
Voltage on VDD_ANA2 should be around 3.3V

No problem at all.

I did measure these pins and the results are:

Voltage on VDD_ANA1: 0v
Voltage on VDD_DIG1: 0v
Voltage on VDD_ANA2: 3.34v
