WL18xx[R8.a9.14] for i.MX6SL, kernel:3.10.17; ERROR : wlan0 Authentication denied in Station mode

Expert 1985 points

Hi,

We are getting authentication denied issue in station mode, which we were able to connect to the same router previously. Once this issue has occurred, we need to reset the router to get wifi module connected.

  • Hi Ijaz,

    status 17 => WLAN_STATUS_AP_UNABLE_TO_HANDLE_NEW_STA
Looks like an AP issue. Does this AP have a "maximum connected stations" limit? Is it reached?

    Regards,
    Gigi Joseph.
  • Hi Gigi,

With the following configuration, I am getting wlan0 association timed out issue.

wlan0 is getting associated and authenticated, but connection to AP is getting lost. Is there anything wrong with our configuration.

    Please find attached log.

  • Hi Ijaz,

Which AP? I don't see any issue in the configuration. But the problem is: "Beacon loss detected". This means that the wl18xx has not received 12 successive beacons from the AP and did not receive a response to PROBE_REQ from the AP. I think this is an AP issue. Do you see this issue after you power cycle the AP Or with a different AP?

    Regards,
    Gigi Joseph.
  • Hi Gigi,

I shall check that and update you. Thanks for the response.

    Thanks & Regards,
    Ijaz Fazily
  • Hi,

Could you please have a look at the station mode configuration. This happens every time I connect to office AP. I tried power cycling the AP too. Please check my configuration. Am I missing something. If this is an AP issue, please tell me what is wrong from AP side.

  • Hi,

Is it possible to change the limit of no. of successive beacons received from the AP?. When we connect to particular AP's, it fails all the time.

  • Hi Ijaz,

Can you share an air sniffer log for this issue?

  • Hi Ijaz,

This looks like the decryption of these packets failed...
Can you share an air sniffer log?
