WL1835MOD Low Wifi throughput

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: WL1835

Hello There !

Using patches provided by TI we successfully added support for the WL1835 to our Freescale iMX6 board that runs Linux 3.10.17. However, the throughput is quite disappointing. 10Mbit/sec Rx and about 20Mbit/sec Tx. Other clients on the same Wifi AP consistently get 36Mbit/sec Rx and 62Mb/sec Tx. Tests are completed using iperf and the iMX processor is not busy.

We are not using Bluetooth at this moment and I used wlconf to set number of 2.4Ghz antennas to 1 and 5Ghz antennas to 0. iw station dump shows strong signal, see below. I'm not quite sure how to proceed troubleshooting this.

Station 74:26:ac:70:f9:00 (on wlan0)

inactive time: 4000 ms
rx bytes: 34958275
rx packets: 51116
tx bytes: 94106720
tx packets: 72545
tx retries: 0
tx failed: 3
signal: -30 dBm
signal avg: -32 dBm
tx bitrate: 72.2 MBit/s MCS 7 short GI
rx bitrate: 58.5 MBit/s MCS 6

authenticated: yes

WMM/WME: yes
MFP: no
TDLS peer: no

Any hints & help is appreciated

Thanks,
