Hi E2E-Community,

we are using a WL1837 with BlueZ 5.30 as bluetooth stack (running on a linux 3.14.42 kernel) and discovered a problem with the currently available firmware from https://git.ti.com/ti-bt/service-packs/trees/master. The problem is, that when A2DP switches from streaming to stopped (no other profile is connected), we discovered a disconnect (reason 1) from the smartphone after exactly 20 seconds. It's only discovered on Android phones so far, using Lollipop and Jelly Bean. No issue on iPhones.

We have already debugged and checked HCI dump and etc. There is nothing showing an indication for an problem on our application side. Not even a visible transfer towards the BlueZ stack.

The problem doesn't occur with an older firmware. (TI_P2.112), but only with the new one (TI_P2.127). Due to that we assume it's because some settings of WiLink8 internally.

Can you help us with this matter? Anyone having the same problems?

Can you share the snoop logs?
Do you know what the LSTO value is set as?

Checked the LSTO value on both firmware revision, both are set to: 32000 slots / 20 seconds

Hi Elmar,

Thanks for the logs. Is it possible for you to share some logs on the WL18xx side? Do you have the capability to take the firmware logs (processors.wiki.ti.com/.../CC256x_Logger_User_Guide)?

Hi Gigi,

the debug PIN is currently connected to a GPIO of the ARM, I can try to do install a soft UART and read out the data, when this helps. Can you share the logger tool, we have a NDA in place? Or is there an alternative way to get the debug messages?

In the commit ID of upgrading to bts service pack 3.7 (TI_P2.127) , it says the following:

5. BT ACL link priority is set higher in case of starvation by the WLAN IP
Added a mechanism to change the priority of ACL links in case they are being starved by the WLAN IP.
This mechanism will only take effect if WLAN FW version 8.9.0.0.35 or newer is used.

Please upgrade the WLAN SP to 8.9.0.0.35 or newer. I believe the issue would be solved.

Hi Gigi,

I've updated the WLAN firmware to 8.9.0.0.44, it looks that the behavior is a bit better, but still not stable.
I'll send you the log files via mail.
