WL1807 - Achieve throughputs greater than 100Mbps?

Hi,

Based on the specs, the WL1807 looks like it can handle up to 100Mbps max throughput. I have two questions related to this below:

1. Are there any strategies or implementations (i.e. multiple devices, channel bonding) that allow the WL1807 to achieve over 400Mbps or even more?

2. Assuming 100Mbps is the absolute max and the WL1807 is configured as an AP, if 10 clients are connected, is each client limited to 10Mbps?

Thanks!

- James

  • Hi James,

    1. No, it is not possible.
    2. No, we do not limit - If all 9 STA are in PS, and only one is running traffic, you will get most of the BW, and can get upto ~70-80 mb

    Regards,
    Gigi Joseph.
  • Hi Gigi,

    Thanks for your quick reply.

For Question 2, let me go one level deeper for my application. If I am using the WL1807 as an AP and I want to stream video to clients simultaneously, how does sharing the bandwidth work across the clients? Please see my examples below.

    Scenarios (assuming 100Mbps max throughput)

50Mbps video, streaming limited to 2 clients (assuming other connected clients are in PS)?

20Mbps video, streaming limited to 5 clients (assuming other connected clients are in PS)?

10Mbps video, stream to all 10 clients?

    Regards,

    James
