I am working for a client who has an existing product developed around the MSP430F425A. I am not aware of the existing code size of the product yet. Now I have to add the CC3100 to the board and make the product speak to a mobile device over Wi-Fi Direct. Again without actually implementing the solution I wouldn't know the code size.
Until date I have always used the free Code composer studio (code size limited for my development) but not sure if I will need the full version now or not. So my question is, will energia work for such an application (I haven't used energia yet but would love to give it a try)? Is there any other free IDE that will help? Will Simplelink work? I would like to avoid investing the extra cash in the CCS license since I don't know when will be the next time that I will need to use the paid version of CCS.
