Need help to select Platform for Video and Audio streaming through WiFi

Hi,

I want to check the feasibility for following functionalities:

- Have to capture and send video + Audio from camera (540p pr 720p with 30fps will be enough) via WiFi to external network and to Mobile

- From Mobile Audio will be transmitted back to Processor and to speaker.

- Latency should not be more than 200 ms.(This is must)

- There might be some proximity or motion or light sensor and switch interfaces.

- Want to avoid Processors with BGA packages.(Not a must but can trade off)

- Last but not least not expensive (including camera)

I will like to have some Evaluation Kit to do Feasibility and Performance analysis. What is a good Processor to achieve this? Any idea or guideline from where to start development?

Hi Bhavesh,

Yes it is possible to interface camera and audio pack with CC3200. Please refer "16.8.4 CC3200 Pin-mux Examples" section on http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/swru367b/swru367b.pdf. We have individual camera and audio booster pack but not together. You may stack up both booster pack on CC3200 with some hardware changes or design your own board.

Hi Ashish,

Can you please let me know supported booster packs for this processor. I found MT9D111 Camera Module but did not find any Audio?
Are there any Camera Module which has inbuilt Audio Capturing sensors also?

And does TI provide these booster packs or have to buy from somewhere else?

Also on Camera Example link you have shared, it is mentioned at end that more than 5 fps is not possible? Normally ~30 fps is required for fair amount of display. Can you please confirm whether it is possible to achieve frame rate of 30 fps or no? And there is no information on Audio application, link you have shared is having no information on web page.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Hi Bhavesh,

Please refer http://www.ti.com/tool/cc3200audboost for audio booster pack. The frame rate depend upon application design, network environment and how many CPU cycles are available for camera sensor and for NWP. In current camera example camera running on 15FPS clock but in real browser side we receive 7-10 FPS in lab environment.

Thanks for information. One more doubt is, if this processor only work as Network processor for data communication and another processor to sample data and it will send to CC3200 than higher FPS is achievable?
Any suggestions suitable processor to achieve 25 fps video (one way) and Audio (two way) communication at 12KHz simultaneously?
