how to run hcitool for WL18xx Bluetooth with AM335X.

Hi,

Need to run hcitools for wl18xx BLE on am335x.

BLE gpio is set to 1 Value.

But when I run the hciattach command its showing me error.

root@root:~# hciattach /dev/ttyS5 texas (/dev/ttyS5 is Uart port interface for bluetooth)

But its showing me error "Initialization timed out.".

Firmware file "TIInit_11.8.32.bts" is located in filesystem "/lib/firmware/"

What else it require to make it work?

Hi,

You need to toggle BT_EN.
If you are using the prebuilt images, then there is no need to do hciattach, the hci0 will be available. So you can directly do "hciconfig hci0 up".

One problem I am facing that in run time I need to toggle BT_EN gpio.

And I am trying to export that GPIO through sysfs. And I am facing error "resource is busy" in that.

Because kim driver has taken access of that GPIO. So it is not allowing that gpio to used from userspace.

Any workaround or any suggestion that can enable BT_EN GPIO access through sysfs.

Hi Pankil,

You can use the shared transport driver, and let "kim" manage BT_EN. This way, you don't need the hciattach mechanism. You can use "uim".
