Bluetopia support for iAP2 and MFi chip authentication

Hi ,

I am using ti-sdk-am335x-evm-07.00.00.00 , with kernel 3.12.10. I have a WL1835 module on the custom board based on Beaglebone. I installed bluetopia version : AM335xBluetopiaLinuxProduction-4.0.1.4.2U and is working fine. We need to communicate to iPhone over Bluetooth.

We plan to transmit data using EAP to iPhone. For this, we need authentication mechanism with apple's MFI chip.

In one of the earlier query you have mentioned that "Bluetopia supports the IAP2 protocol over Bluetooth SPP, and a part of this include the authentication & External Accessory protocol over iAP2."

We request below clarifications from you to proceed further :

How to authenticate Bluetooth using MFI chip? Do you have any demo or example for this?
Does the Bluetopia stack have any APIs for MFI authentication ?
Do you have any examples where the stack is used with an apple device for audio ?
Do you have any examples for EAP & iAP2 ?

Hi,

Please see the below responses I received internally.

1. This would need iSPP profile support on the platform. We do not have this available on Sitara release(AM335x platform) today. This si currently udner development and planned in 2Q16
2. The iSPP profile and sample application should help with the need.
3. Which profile? A2DP? Please see: processors.wiki.ti.com/.../WL18xx_TI_Bluetooth_Stack_AUDM_Demo_App
4. The iSPP profile includes IAP2 authentication. I am not sure on the EAP need.

Hi Gigi,

I was trying to bring up authentication chip from kernel level, Since authentication chip communication involves a bit different i2c , i am not able to get any reply from the chip. Could you help me with this ?
