We have a customer considering the WL1837MOD. In their application they are anticipating significant signal attenuation and would like to increase the transmit power of the WL1837MOD. The WL1837MOD's data sheet specifies the maximum TX power for 5GHz at 18dBm. Would increasing its output power exceed FCC limits?

Other than having to obtain agency approval again would there be any reason a customer should not attempt to amplify further the WL1837MOD's transmit signal further?

Only that is consumes more current from the power supply, so if it a battery operated product, battery life is reduced.
