Thanks in advance for your help.

I am planning to connect the 6 channel in, 8 channel out codec ( http://www.ti.com/product/PCM3168A) with the CC3200 to connect six microphones and one speaker. The six microphones will help create a microphone array for capturing far voice.

One the CC3200 I want to compress the input audio channels using the narrowband mode of Opus, with 20ms, and lower bitrates. Is it possible to run 6 encoder channels and one decoder channel on the CC3200 ? What is the performance of the Opus codec on CC3200?

Hi Vishal,

We have never heard of anyone using this software on CC3200 so we cant comment on its feasibility. There are a number of things to consider here: What will be the size of the codec on the M4? What sort of math operations are being performed, and how fast?

Hi Amit,

There is a difference in clock speed, lack of floating point unit, etc. I'm not saying it wont work, but we have not tried this.

Hello Aaron

We do not use the hardware floating point either, so that should not be a problem. I believe that with clock speeds of 80Mhz it should be possible to run the application. I would only be concerned for the code size that may take up almost all of the memory on CC32xx device, but then i have not used one nor ported one. With I2S interface on CC32xx, you may be able to to reduce the code size as we use timer and ADC for data conversions....
