I'm having issues with a DLink DWK-921 and the CC3100MOD. When our code runs against other AP's (including phones providing hotspot) it:

- Connects
- Does DNS lookups
- Connects to an HTTP server on the internet

When connecting to the internet through the DWK921, it doesn't connect to the HTTP server. Looking at the server logs, it doesn't see the connection request. Is this one of the routers the CC3x00 doesn't work through?

Hello Michael,

Can you comment whether the same CC3100 can connect to another server?

How do you try to conncet? are you using HTTPCli() APIs?

I am asking since it might be that this specific server sends you an HTTP redirect and the device is not able to redirect.

Another option is to try and ping the device. Do you get feedback when pinging?

Hi Shlomi,

The current code does a low-level create socket and then uses sl_send and sl_recv...

On other AP's this seems ok but against the DWR921, sl_recv returns SL_EAGAIN until we reach a timeout 2s later

I will try adding a dummy read using the HttpCli * APIs once I find the headers for them...

So I am a little confused Michael,

You reported that you are not able to connect and now you report you are not able to receive.

Please elaborate as it is important for debugging procedure.

Are you able to ping the server and get responses back?

Is it possible that for this specific router, you have some kind of filtering/firewall that blocks you?

Hi Shlomi,

We changed the code to use the HTTPCli APIs (after "modifying" the code to cope with SL_INC_STD_BSD_API_NAMING not being defined) and that worked ok. I can only presume our existing HTTP request builder wasn't working correctly.
