how to connect WL1837 Interrupt Pin to iMX6Q SDB Board ?

Hi All,

I would like to know the reference point (on iMX6Q - SDB board) to which the WL1837's WiFi Interrupt pin can be connected ? I have referred the WL8 Wiki pages but only for iMX6 Solo Lite board detailed connection diagram (Interrupt & Power Pin connection to iMX6) is given.

following Wiki Page shows the GPIO Pins(W5 & V6) on iMX6 for WL8 Interrupt & Power Pin connections.

Can someone help me where exactly (reference point) on iMX6, I can connect the Interrupt pin ?

Hi,

We have not used the SDB, only the SABRE internally, so not familiar with the available GPIO pins that you can wire one of themto the wilink8 module.

Actually the following section talks about the imx6q_sabresd:

Thanks for the reply, actually the board given in the TI wiki page and the one which we are using are same (verified the Part no:MCIMX6Q6AVT10AC and pins exposed).

The link http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/WL18xx_First_Time_Getting_Started_Guide_(IMX6) says Pin W5 (Line name :KEY_COL0 ) should be connected to WL IRQ line but we did find any point on the board (for Pin W5) to wire it to WL8.

For i.MX Solo lite EVK board, a pic is given in TI Wiki page describing about the connections. Is there any anything like this available for i.MX SABRE board (imx6qsabresd) ?

It has been a while since I have used this board but AFAIK on the sabresd board no additional wires are needed as it uses available pins in the MMCSD connector or the J13 FPC used for Bluetooth signals.

See the following pins used for wlan_enable and wlan_irq in the .dts file:

MX6QDL_PAD_KEY_COL0__GPIO4_IO06 0x13059 // this is for WL_IRQ which driver will configure as an input with a pull down
MX6QDL_PAD_KEY_ROW0__GPIO4_IO07 0x13069 /* WL_REG_ON */

This is from the following patch:

Hi,

Yes, It doesn't require additional wiring (FPC Connector is enough). I got the interrupt pin info from the COM82SDMMC adapter board User Guide (www.ti.com/.../swru398.pdf).

WL8 Sabre Board FPC (J13)

WL_IRQ J13.2 (SPINOR_CLK)

WL_EN J13.1 (SPINOR_MOSI)

1. It looks like we need populate some resistors R209 to R215 (total 7 ) to use J13 connector . Is it needed ? Or It is needed only for Bluetooth operation ?

2. Are these J13.2 & J13.1 are connected to GPIO Pins MX6QDL_PAD_KEY_COL0__GPIO4_IO06 & MX6QDL_PAD_KEY_ROW0__GPIO4_IO07 respectively. ?

Hi Ravi,

If you check the "Addon Resistor location" figure in:
processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Sabre_board_change.png

You can see that you need to populate R212 and R213 for the SPINOR_CLK and SPINOR_MOSI to be connected to the host.
An yes, these pins are connected to MX6QDL_PAD_KEY_COL0__GPIO4_IO06 & MX6QDL_PAD_KEY_ROW0__GPIO4_IO07

What is the right configuration for GPIO4 Pin6 Pin Muxing. ?

1. Software Input On Field : Disabled (Input depends on mux mode )
2. MUX Mode : ALT5

1. Hysteresis Enable Field : Enabled
2. Pull up / Pull down Config Field : 100K OHM Pull down
3. Pull / Keep Select Field : Pull
4. Pull / Keep Enabled Field : Enabled
5. Open Drain Enable Field : Disabled
6. Speed Field : 100MHZ
7. Drive Strength Field : 40 OHM
8. Slew Rate Field : Slow
