Hi,

I refer to the following of WL1837MOD datasheet.
Table 6-1. WLAN Performance Parameters

WL1837 MOD datasheet:

This list has the following definitions.
a)Sleep current: 160 µA Leakage, firmware retained Connected
b)IDLE: 750 µA No traffic IDLE connect

Please tell me when this measurement condition defines each.

1.Would I set WLAN_EN in low?
2.Is it time of the wait state in WOWLAN?
3.other ?

  • hi , sleep current is when WiLink8 is ON but not connected to an AP. Idle current is when WiLink8 is connected to an AP but not sending/receiving any data traffic .

    What would be the current consumption when:
                  Power is applied to VBAT/VIO
                  WLAN_EN and BT_EN are grounded

    This correspond to the scenario highligted in pink region below (from www.ti.com/.../swru437.pdf) :

    Pardon the delay, Saurabh is not available for the time being. I should be able to help you though.

    My understanding is that you are interested in the current consumption when the Enable signals are low. In Section 5.22.2 Power-Up and Shut-Down States of the data sheet it defines the Shutdown state as Vbat, Vio, and slow clock are being fed to the device, but WL_EN is low. I believe this is the scenario we are interested in. Later in Table 6-3 Shutdown and Sleep Currents is gives us the power power supply currents of both Vbat and Vio:

       

    My reading of this is that when Vbat, Vio, and slow clock are applied while the Enable signals are low the leakage current consumption is approx 12 uA.
