cc3200mod: bootloader example token variable for filesystem

Part Number: CC3200MOD
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC3200

Hi All

I went through the documentation for FileSystem

and it says

TokenReserved for future use. Use 0

In the bootloader example for every userimage file there is a corresponding token and it is not set to zero

Can someone enlighten me ? what purpose does it serve?

Thanks & regards

Farhan

  • Hi farhan,

If you are creating own bootloader, you can use 0 tokens.

I think token handling in application_bootloader example is from days when in TI think that security at CC3200 will be supported. Security is not supported by CC3200, and from this reason this code has no meaning. But I can't confirm this statement at 100%.

  • Hi Jan,
    Thanks a lot
Can someone from TI confirm this, that there is no significance of tokens for bootloader ?
