Hi everyone,

For ensuring the integrity of the power supply to the serial flash,

we want to connect a capacitor to the outside and slow down the voltage drop of Vcc.

I have two question about following wiki page.

Q1:

What should we do with "initiates WiFi shutdown" in the graph?
Should we call sl_stop? Is there any other processing required?

Q2:
"WiFi Shutdown in progress" is described as "upto 150ms(typical)"
What is the maximum value of this time?
If it depends on the system, how should we estimate this time?

NOTE:Host CPU is MSP430

Hi Sasaki,

The "Wifi Shutdown" in this document refers to safely shutting down the product after concluding ongoing SFlash processes to ensure the memory is not corrupted.
So its up to the programmer to implement a system that checks the ongoing flash processes and keeps it in a "safe mode" for shut down within the allotted time it takes for the voltage to go from Vth to Vflash-min. This time depends on the bulk capacitor, the current consumption of the Wifi subsystem and the instruction set by the programmer.

Please let me ask a question again.

What is the way to detect that the host controller's MSP 430 has completed the ongoing SFlash process?
Can the MCU detect this by using the API?

Hi Sasaki,

If you are programming the serial flash through the host, the API call will not return until the task is completed.
