CC3220: RadioTool update

Will there be an update to the RadioTool for the CC3220?  The last release was a little over a year ago and I assume with a different simplelink driver, there may need to be an update for this tool and the corresponding firmware.  I am aware of the radiotool feature of the network terminal example, but would prefer the interface provided by TI in the RadioTool program.

Or will the old firmware written for the CC3200 be 'good enough' to run on the CC3220R?  The webpages for the CC3220 point to the RadioTool, but there is no mention on the radiotool pages (wiki or otherwise) that mentions the CC3220.
