CC3100BOOST: PC cannot find wifi signal

Part Number: CC3100BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC3100, CC31XXEMUBOOST

I cannot see mysimpleline-xxx in my PC (ubuntu) wifi setting and need your help. I got a new CC3100 and I stacked it on top of a C2000 MCU. Then I plugged in USB. All lights were on. Then I did press/release to switch 1 and 3 according to the instruction to change it from wakeup mode to access point mode. However, I couldnot see CC3100 from my PC wifi setting. I unplugged everything and redid. The same.

  • Hi Guowei,

The combination of C2000 and CC3100 is not supported as we don't have the host driver ported to C2000.

Specifically about your issue - If you followed the exact instructions and still don't see the AP, it might be related to not enough power received from the C2000 board. You may try your CC3100 board with the CC31XXEMUBOOST to verify any connection issue.

  • Hi Kobi

I understand that I can use CC31XXEMUBOOST to program CC3100 but cannot use C2000. With C2000, I cannot even set AP mode because it doesn't have driver.

Is there any possibility that I can add wifi or bluetooth function to a C2000 module?
